PORT ANGELES – There’s going to be a change-of-command at the US Coast Guard Station in Port Angeles on Friday as Commanding Officer Captain Mark Hiigel is officially replaced by Commander Michael S. Jackson.
Hiigel is being transferred to a Coast Guard Station in Boston, where he will serve as the incident management branch chief for District 1.
An official ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 AM at the Air Station on Ediz Hook, presided over by Rear Admiral David G. Throop.
