CLALLAM COUNTY – A violent one-car crash Thursday night in Clallam County’s west-end left two passengers thrown from their vehicle and three others trapped in the car.

First responders answered the call on Hoko-Ozette Road around 10:00 and found the five occupants, ages 16 through 21, had all sustained serious injuries, with some unconscious. Tools were needed to extricate the driver and passengers from the vehicle. All five were transported to the Forks Hospital.

The vehicle appeared to have been traveling northbound on Hoko-Ozette toward Highway 112 when the driver failed to negotiate a turn. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree stump.

Alcohol and excessive speed are believed to have been factors in the accident and it is believed only one occupant was wearing a seat belt.
