PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles Police responded to a report that a suspect had threatened to kill a young boy on Railroad Avenue Wednesday night around 8:00.
Police say the suspect demanded money from the young boy and threatened to kill him, and that the victim did hand over a small amount of cash to the suspect.
Officers quickly identified the suspect as Kathy Venegoni, a 47 year old transient from Illinois, when Officer Harold Balderson saw her on Marine Drive about 5 blocks west of the scene of the robbery. Venegoni invited Officer Balderson to go with her to a marijuana store, but instead he arrested her based on probable cause.
Venegoni was booked into the Clallam County Jail while the Prosecutor reviews the case.
