PORT ANGELES – 59-year-old John Damore of Port Angeles was sentenced to 31 months in prison this week in a plea agreement where Damore was charged with 2nd Degree Assault of a Child with a Deadly Weapon.
The case began in May of last year when Officers Fairbanks and Dombrowski responded to the neighborhood near 8th and E Streets to a report that a man in a black bath robe was standing on his porch pointing a pistol and yelling at three children.
Corporal Dombrowski, a trained negotiator, arranged for Damore to come out of his house and peacefully surrender. Officers developed probable cause to arrest Damore, and seized three handguns from his house. Damore will be on probation for 18 months after he completes his 31 month prison sentence.
