A judge last month ordered Adams to undergo competency restoration treatment, finding that he was competent to stand trial but unable to aid in his own defense.
Doctors have diagnosed Adams with unspecified schizophrenia.
Adams told police in July he killed 53-year-old Russell Haines at the Oregon Way Hotel.
