PORT ANGELES — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit Monday morning just after 3:00 underneath Olympic National Park.

The quake’s epicenter was about 29 miles south of Port Angeles, and 23 miles deep.

We called Paul Caruso, a geophysicist at the US Geological Survey office in Colorado, to see what he could tell us about it.

Caruso said that while no one can predict earthquakes, it wouldn’t be unusual to experience an aftershock at some point, maybe up to a magnitude of 3 or so.
