PORT ANGELES – The removal of the Giant Sequoia tree in Lions Park in Port Angeles, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed.

In November, city officials ordered the 100-foot tree to be cut down because its roots are damaging the adjacent property and because it poses a danger of splitting and falling.

We asked Mayor Sissi Bruch about her reasons for postponing the tree’s removal.

Bruch says her intention is have the issue placed on the December 18th Council meeting agenda for council review and citizen commentary.
