PORT ANGELES – The Port of Port Angeles Board of Commissioners just selected 25 projects to fund through the Port’s 2019 Community Partner Program.

2019 is the fifth year that the Port has run this program, which funds projects in economic development, education, tourism promotion and community events. Since 2015, the Port has awarded over $340,000 here in Clallam County.

Among the lucky winners are the Boys and Girls Club, who are building a new clubhouse in Port Angeles.

CRTC got over $6,000 to create a recycled carbon fiber waterless toilet prototype.

VFW Post 9106 got money to build their Gold Star Families Monument.

Also on the list are Forks Timber Museum to build an outdoor pavilion, Habitat for Humanity, Neah Bay Chamber of Commerce, the Olympic Culinary Farm-to-Chef Food Expo, Sequim Irrigation Festival Logging Show, The Story People of Clallam County for their Storytelling Festival, and the West End Thunder Drag Racing Club got $2,000 to put on their drag racing events.

A grand total of $73,580.00 was given out by the Port of Port Angeles for 2019.

The Port will begin accepting applications for the 2020 Community Partner Program in the fall of 2019 so mark your calendars and check their website for more information.
