SEQUIM – Three people were hurt when car blew through stop sign causing a crash with another vehicle between Port Angeles and Sequim.

The crash happened about 7:30 last night at the intersection of Old Olympic Highway and Cays Road.

First responders found one car on Cays Road with extensive front end damage and one vehicle in the ditch on the west side of Cays Road crashed into a fence with extensive driver’s side damage.

31-year-old Kayla Beck of Port Angeles was found in the car in the ditch. The other vehicle contained two, unidentified occupants. All three were taken by ambulance to Olympic Medical Center.

Sheriff’s investigators say Beck’s vehicle drove through the stop sign failing to stop at the intersection. The other vehicle involved was traveling north on Old Olympic Highway onto to Cays Road when Beck’s vehicle drove in front of them causing Beck to be struck in the driver’s side of her vehicle.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
