PORT ANGELES — All power has been restored to the City of Port Angeles

City officials announced the restoration about 11 am Saturday after heavy winds struck the area Friday, knocking out electricity to tens of thousands of people across the north Olympic Peninsula.

The city of Port Angeles emergency notification has been lifted. The city is close the solid waste transfer station Saturday due to loss of power and limited access.

City officials say residents experiencing isolated outages are encouraged to contact the city at 360-417-4726.  Crews will  continue to clear debris and damage from roadways and will respond to incoming requests.

Meantime, there were still about 6,000 Clallam PUD customers without power as of mid-day Saturday. PUD officials have no estimate on when power may be fully restored.
