PORT ANGELES – The clean-up continues after the wild wind storm ripped through the north Olympic Peninsula Friday.

Clallam PUD reports that at one point, all of Clallam County was without power after a BPA main line into the area was damaged in the storm. Those repairs were finished by Friday night, but there were still large swaths of people without power through most of the weekend.

We spoke to Undersheriff Ron Cameron this afternoon, fresh out of a debrief with County officials.

Several houses were damaged or destroyed by trees falling on them, but emergency management officials say they have no reports of serious injuries or fatalities as a result of the storm.

We asked Cameron if he could confirm what we were hearing about a lack of criminal activity during the weekend blackout.

Our latest check of the PUD’s outage map shows 815 customers are still without power, almost all of them along the coast between Bly and Joyce.

We asked Jacob DeFlitch from the National Weather Service how strong the wind was blowing Friday, and what to expect this week.
