CLALLAM COUNTY – Washington State Patrol is reporting a couple of accidents that affected traffic on Christmas Day.

At about 11:30 AM Katelynn Kerschner of Forks rolled her vehicle on Highway 101 west of Port Angeles when she crossed the center line, over-corrected her steering into the ditch and hit what’s described as a large rock. Her car came to rest on the highway upside down.

Kerschner, 25, was able to walk away from that accident, but has been charged with Driving Too Fast For Conditions.

And then at 3:30 in the afternoon on Christmas, a collision on Highway 101 at Hooker Road had traffic partially blocked for about a half hour.

Anna Lucero of Port Angeles reportedly spilled hot coffee in her lap and failed to stop at the red light. When she entered the intersection she hit Shawn Fontana’s truck as he was crossing the highway toward Carlsborg. Fontana, 27 of Port Angeles, was transported to the hospital.

Lucero was charged with Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal.
