PORT ANGELES – It will be weeks before results of autopsies from multiple death cases in Clallam County are released

County prosecutor Mark Nichols, who is also the county’s coroner tells KONP, autopsies have been performed on all victims of a triple homicide that occurred on Bear Meadow Road over the Christmas holiday. But he says there is not yet a coroner’s report. Nichols says that could take weeks and puts that part of the investigation on hold.

The bodies of 57-year-old Darrell Iverson and his 27-year-old son, Jordan Iverson, were found beneath tarps and other debris in the yard of their New Year’s Eve.  While processing the scene, authorities found the body of 26-year-old Tiffany A. May locked in a nearby shed. All three victims suffered gunshot wounds.

Meantime Clallam County sheriff Bill Benedict says all he can report is it’s an extremely active investigation involving multiple agencies, saying any more could compromise the investigation.  He did say there was good response from area residents to a call for home surveillance coverage. Investigators are combing through that footage looking for evidence of people in the area.

As for the case of Valerie Claplanhoo of Sequim, who’s death is being investigated as suspicious, Nichols says her autopsy has been completed as well and they are awaiting that report as well.

Nichols was adamant in saying that there was no reason to suspect that the Port Angeles and Sequim cases were related.
