snow-shed

PORT ANGELES – The latest news from the National Weather Service says we are expecting at least a little more snow in the next 24 hours, but depending on how warm it gets, that could turn to rain instead, creating its own set of challenges. Here’s Courtney Obergfell from NWS Seattle.

Snow transitioning to rain can obviously turn the packed snow on the roads to an even worse situation, but Undersheriff Ron Cameron reminds us that those of you with flat roofs or heavy build-up in the higher elevations should be wary if it starts raining.

Fire District 2 Chief Sam Phillips says his crews have been facing some challenges over the weekend and has more on the dangers of roof collapse.

Phillips says Fire District 3 responded to a roof collapse on Lost Mountain Road that resulted in the serious injury of a resident who was airlifted by Navy Air Ambulance to Seattle’s Harborview trauma center.
