PORT ANGELES – It’s been a year since the Clallam County Economic Development Corporation has had an official, full-time executive director to run the daily operations, but they’re now actively looking for the right person to fill the job.

Bob Schroeter left in May last year and Julie Knott took over as interim exec. She has since taken the lead on the Emerald Coast Opportunity Zone program, and Lumber Traders CEO Kelly Fox has been filling in as best he can since then on a part-time basis.

But the EDC is an important organization to local governments, businesses, schools and other agencies, and it requires a strong, full-time leader.

Fox says that search is on as of last week, and it begins here at home.

The job is being offered at a salary of between $75,000 and $100,000 per year with benefits, but EDC is a team of only three, so not a job where someone can come in and start delegating a lot of tasks.
