SEQUIM – The Sequim School District Board of Directors has chosen a search firm to help them find a new school superintendent now that Gary Neal has announced his resignation, effective June 30.

Northwest Leadership Associates (NLA) of Liberty Lake, Washington was chosen at Monday night’s Board meeting. They are same company that helped the Port Angeles School District find Superintendent Marty Brewer last year.

NLA has set a goal of having a candidate in contract negotiations by February 20, 2020. Board President Brian Kuh says one of the first steps will be to engage the public in the process.

In the meantime, the District will also have to find an Interim Superintendent to get them through the 2019/2020 school year. Kuh says that search will be on a much shorter timeline and will be facilitated by the same company, NLA.
