BLYN – The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is about to open a major new facility in Blyn that will house law enforcement, their Fish and Game Enforcement office, and a formal courtroom with adjacent offices for Family Court advocates and operations.

The Jamestown S’Klallam Public Safety and Justice Center is having it’s Grand Opening on Friday, June 14 at 11:00am. The 6000 square-foot building was built at cost of $2.6 million, which included a $500,000 HUD grant, and will rival the public safety facilities of many small cities.

Three Jamestown Enforcement Officers, including the Chief of Police, and one Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputy will have offices there. As cross-deputized officers, they enforce Tribal law on Tribal lands, and State law on County land.

The full-service courtroom has been designed to be converted for use as a classroom, conference room, or emergency operations center, and Fish and Game Enforcement will move their court proceedings from the Tribal Admin building into the new facility as well.

The Tribe is also working toward taking in their own Family Court cases, which are currently handled in Clallam County Superior Court.

Again, the Grand Opening is Friday, June 14 from 11:00-1:00 at 110 Sophus Road in Blyn.
