Hundreds of pets were flown to Everett from the state of Arkansas over the weekend after being displaced by devasting floods.

Nearly two hundred cats and dogs will be available for adoption at Seattle HumanePAWS and The NOAH Center. Fifty of the animals will go to Seattle Humane’s Bellevue facility.

This is the second disaster transfer of pets this year for Seattle Humane, and more are expected during this year’s natural disaster season, which is usually April to November.

The animals come from shelters that lack the space, resources or population to adopt them.

So far, 2,000 animals have been rescued this year and transported by Wings of Rescue.
