PORT ANGELES – The 100th run of the Clallam County Fair starts Thursday.

Themed “Red, White and Moo…It’s our 100th too”,  Fair manager Shari Ioffrida says almost every exhibit spot is spoken for.

“We have every single spot filled. We might have one at the end of one midway, but a lot of people are just ‘so it’s the 100th fair, we want to be there’.”

She also says they’ve brought in many food vendors this year.

“So we have one that sells all different kinds of egg rolls, like pizza egg roll and apple pie egg rolls and so on some Indian tacos back. It’s not the same vendor, but they have deep fried salmon. which I hear his awesome and some others.”

Ioffrida say there will be lots of animal displays again this year, noting a special breed of rabbit that grows to 50 pounds will be there.

The fair has booked a wide range of music entertainment ranging from top local bands to regional acts such as “Spike and the Impalers” which will do a two-hour concert Saturday night.

Among the new events this year, the fair will name a “Farm Family of the Year” Thursday night at 6 pm.

They are also awarding the first baby born in Clallam County after the fair opens this year with free admission to next year’s fair and a portrait package.

The fair runs Thursday through Sunday. Gates open at 9 am each day. The carnival starts at noon.
