LAKEWOOD, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say an 18-year-old man died in a convenience store parking lot near Tacoma after he was shot and then driven to that location.

Lakewood Police Lt. Chris Lawler says police were called to the Lakewood 7-Eleven store at about 8 p.m. Monday.

Lawler says police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Attempts to help the man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lawler says the man had arrived in a vehicle and the driver stayed at the scene after calling for help.

Lawler says two males fled from the vehicle but were not found.

It appears the shooting happened in the vehicle, Lawler says, and that the victim was driven to the 7-Eleven for help.
