Southwest Airlines is sharing with its workers about $125 million it received from a settlement with Boeing. The money is from a partial settlement over damages from the grounding of Boeing’s 737 Max jet after two deadly crashes.
But the president of Southwest’s pilot’s union says that the amount doesn’t fully compensate union members who lost income because of fewer flying assignments. Southwest has been among the hardest hit by the grounding of the Max in March. It says money for employees will be part of its profit-sharing distribution next year.
