PORT ANGELS – A Port Angeles man was arrested over the weekend in connection with the theft of more than 30 thousand dollars in jewelry. And a second man was arrested on outstanding warrants for child rape.

32-year-old Justin Davis was arrested for two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree theft.

The case began February 3rd, when deputies investigated the burglary of a business in the 2100

block of west Highway 101, Port Angeles.

Saturday, deputies took another burglary report from the same business. This time, the business owner called the Sheriff’s Office at 7:39 am to report seeing two males inside of his business on his newly installed video camera system. Responding deputies arrived after the men had already departed.

Deputies say camera images showed that one of the men was Davis. With this information, deputies located and stopped Davis on Highway 112 Saturday evening.  A search of Davis’ truck turned up a portion of the stolen jewelry from the burglaries.

Deputies then searched a residence on Barnacle Drive on the Elwha reservation. There they recovered more stolen jewelry as well as evidence of it being cut up to be sold for scrap.

Unrelated to the case, deputies recovered a stolen flatbed trailer and arrested 25-year-old James J. Jensen of Port Angeles for a felony Clallam County warrant and an Island County arrest warrant for child rape.
