ROSEBURG, Ore. – Three teenage girls reported missing in Seattle have been found in Oregon with a California fugitive who now faces human trafficking charges.
KVAL News reports officers found the three girls early Thursday after they spotted a suspicious car parked near the Roseburg Municipal Airport and decided to investigate.
Police contacted the occupants of the rental car, 41-year-old Maurice Pierre Hurth of Suisun City, Calif., and three girls under age 18.
It then was discovered that Hurth had multiple warrants for his arrest. Police say after a brief resistance, Hurth was arrested on those warrants.
Police took the girls into protective custody – and booked the man into jail on suspicion of human trafficking and compelling prostitution.
Police later learned the three girls had recently been reported missing from a youth group home in the Seattle area.
