SEQUIM – An earthquake rattled the north Olympic Peninsula late last night.

According to the US Geological Survey, the 3.0 magnitude earthquake hit just before midnight last night about three miles southwest of Sequim.

It was at a depth of 27 miles beneath the earth’s surface. No damage was reported, but some residents say they felt it or were awakened by the shaking.
