Two Daughters Need to Find a Home Loving Home for Our Mother’s Cat

Our mom just passed away and we are desperate to find a home for her cat, Smokey. We both live out of state and are unable to take Smokey with us, but we also cannot bear taking him to a shelter. Smokey is a very loving kitty, but also a very independent sole. He spends much of his time outdoors, but does like to come in to eat and keep company in the evenings. He’s not much of a cuddlier but loves to be petted. He will climb on your lap when he wants to, but does not like to be picked up. Homes with little children and other animals are probably not advised, but we are told that he does okay with other cats when he has been previously boarded at the cat ranch.

If you have any room in your home for Smokey, it would be greatly appreciated as the alternative is taking him to the shelter and as an older independent cat, he will likely be overlooked. He is approximately 12 years old, neutered, has been well-taken care of with all shots, etc.
