SEQUIM — The City of Sequim announced Thursday they have redirected the work of members of the Public Works Crew to sanitize the public spaces throughout the City.

The crew is using the Centers for Disease Control recommended solution of five tablespoons of bleach per gallon of water and spraying down benches, railings, seating areas and all touchable surfaces from Whitefeather Way to River Road.

Once sprayed the solution is left to air dry.

Noting that the Governor’s stay-at-home order includes an encouragement to practice safe distancing while outside getting exercise, Public Works Director David Garlington said in a statement, “We want to make sure that the public is as safe as possible when they are in public spaces and will be sanitizing on an on-going basis as long as the…Coronavirus is a threat.”
