PORT ANGELES – With announcements this week that national, state and county parks will be opening for day use on May 5, County Health Officer Dr. Unthank said at Friday morning’s briefing that we can expect a lot of folks from outside the community to come visit.

We know locally that that’s going to bring people here. So we are working on preparing for that. Just a quick reminder to our citizens: There are probably going to be more people around. Some of those people are probably sick with covid-19, as we start to move forward. So just making sure to really practice those good habits that we have all learned. So, keeping that safe physical distance, washing your hands. Please be kind to the visitors, but give them a little bit of space. Don’t touch the tourists. And if you keep that space, if you wash your hands, you don’t have to get covid-19.”
