(LONDON) — Royal watchers are buzzing over a new biography of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harper Collins has on Monday announced the publication of Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

According to the publisher, “Finding Freedom goes beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Harry and Meghan’s life together, dispelling the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond.”

The authors, Scobie and Durand, both members of the royal press pack, had “unique access” and wrote the book “with the participation of those closest to the couple.”

Scobie is an ABC News contributor, Good Morning America regular and host of ABC’s popular royal podcast, “The Heir Pod,” and Durand is a former ABC News producer who now covers the royal family for O, The Oprah Magazine, Elle Magazine and other American and British news outlets.

The book follows the couple from the start of their romance to their departure from their roles as working royals.

“The aim of this book is to portray the real Harry and Meghan,” Scobie and Durand said in a statement, “a couple who continue to inspire many around the world through their humanitarian and charitable work but are often inaccurately portrayed.”

The two journalists explained the motivation for their book: “Our mission has been motivated by a desire to tell an accurate version of their journey and finally present the truth of misreported stories that have become gospel simply because of the amount of times they have been repeated. It is thanks to our sources that we have been able to share the definitive story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

The book, which will be officially released this summer, has already caused some controversy with much speculation over its contents; some fearing Harry and Meghan will embarrass other members of the royal family or use it to settle scores.

However, Harper Collins maintains, “Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait of a confident, influential, and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition, determined to create a new path away from the spotlight, and dedicated to building a humanitarian legacy that will make a profound difference in the world.”

“Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have crafted a balanced and detailed account of Harry and Meghan’s story, one that relies on truth, not speculation. Their biography shows the beauty of Harry and Meghan’s love story and the couple’s keen desire to find a way to make a difference in the world,” said vice president and editorial director of Dey Street Books, Carrie Thornton, who was involved in the commissioning of the book.
