CLE ELUM, Wash.- The body of a missing firefighter from Redmond was recovered from a cliff in Kittitas County today.
The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office says the body Marcus Carroll, a Snohomish County Fire Fighter, was located shortly before dark Monday on the cliff-face on the west side of Peoh Point.
Carroll was hiking alone out to the viewpoint and was last heard from Saturday at around 5:00 P.M. His truck was found on the access road into the viewpoint.
Using a drone, Search and Rescue members later spotted his body on the west face of the cliff.
Both fire districts are coordinating a processional to bring Carroll home. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Another hiker, a 60-year-old Bellevue man, died in a fall at Peoh Point last week.
