LA GRANDE, Ore. (AP) — Commissioners in a small, rural county in northeast Oregon voted today to roll back a loosening on restrictions as the county deals with the largest coronavirus outbreak in the state.

Union County commissioners also voted to recommend that residents wear masks. The move comes as the county struggles with 242 confirmed cases of COVID-19, at least 236 of those are related to the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Island City.

A now-deleted video from the church’s Facebook page showed hundreds of worshipers singing, dancing, and jumping around during a service on May 24, before faith communities were allowed to convene in large groups.

The church recently held a wedding and a graduation ceremony that had over 100 people at each event.
