EDMONDS, Wash. (AP) — A Washington State Ferry was knocked out of service Saturday evening after it was struck by lightning, and repairs have kept it out of service until further notice.

The M/V Puyallup was near the Edmonds ferry dock on its Edmonds-Kingston run when the lightning strike hit. No one was injured on the boat, but the lightning did affect the navigation system. The Edmonds Terminal Supervisor, Michael Bunich said he can’t remember anything like this in 22 years working for Washington State Ferries.

As a result, the Edmond-Kinston route is operating on a one-boat schedule, according to ferry system’s website.
