PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles man pled guilty today in Clallam County Superior Court to 2 counts of Telephone Harassment with Sexual Motivation, which are gross misdemeanors, and will be serve 2 years of probation.

52-year-old Robert Fotens was arrested in September following a Sequim Police investigation of complaints from multiple women who received lewd phone calls over a period of years.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Holly McKeen says Fotens had a 2-year jail sentence suspended by the judge, but was ordered to get a mental health evaluation and receive drug and alcohol treatment while on probation.

“There are no post-conviction no-contact orders that were entered regarding both of the victims in this particular case. You know, he’ll be monitored by probation, so if there’s any violations, then he could be looking at additional jail time.”

McKeen says there is another case against Fotens that is still under investigation.

We asked McKeen if the prosecution was satisfied with the outcome.

“Yes, I believe that it was a fair outcome based on a lot of different factors. It was also, you know, something that the victims did support. I think everybody just wants to see Mr. Fotens get help and, at this point, the ball is in his court. So if he doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do then, you know, he could be looking at additional punishment .”
