The driver of a car that ran a red light in Carlsborg was airlifted to a Seattle-area hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened about three o’clock Friday afternoon. State Patrol Troopers say a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Justin Thompson-Petersen of Sequim sped through a red light at the intersection of Carlsborg Road and Highway 101. His vehicle crashed into another car driven by 30-year-old  Samantha Grimes of Port Angeles. Grimes and two passengers, including a child, were injured and taken to Olympic Medical Center.

The collision rotated into a third vehicle driven by Chelsea Trevenen of Port Angeles. She was also injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center.

Charges are pending against Thompson-Petersen.
