PORT ANGELES – Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Clallam County Tuesday.

That’s a slowdown from a larger surge the previous five days.

But the latest surge in cases has rocketed the county’s case per 100,000 over the past two weeks week to 87. The county is now in the high category, and continued case rates at that level will prompt a shut down of in-person learning in area schools.

There are 59 active cases right now in Clallam County. No one is currently hospitalized. Since March, Clallam County has seen 352 COVID-19 cases. The county has administered more than 22,600 tests.
