PORT ANGELES – A man was attacked with a machete in the Port Angeles City Pier parking lot just after midnight Monday morning.

The suspect fled from the scene but was arrested later that afternoon.

Police say they responded to the call of an assault at the pier and found a victim suffering from several severe injuries to his hands including lacerations and broken bones.

He told police the suspect threatened to kill him and attacked him with a rusty machete, swinging it at his head. The victim defended himself with his hands, deflecting the strikes.

A witness yelled at the suspect, who then fled the area in his car. The victim has since been transported to Harborview in Seattle.

At about 1:30 Monday afternoon, the suspect m, 39-year-ok Tim Williams, was spotted and arrested near Lauridsen and Peabody in Port Angeles.
