KALAMA, Wash. — The U.S. Coast Guard and local emergency responders responded to a downed plane spotted Monday morning in the Columbia River near Sandy Island.

Officials say the downed plane was reported to the Coast Guard just after 8 a.m.

After arriving at the scene, the Coast Guard tweeted that the wreckage turned out to be from a crash that happened in March of 2020, so a search for survivors was suspended.
