PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles city officials continue their effort to find solutions to housing issues with their Building Residential Capacity project.

Last week’s virtual public hearing on proposed code changes can be viewed on the City’s website, and the public comment period ends on Friday, October 29.

Notable changes being proposed are broken down into residential and commercial categories. The potential residential changes include changing minimum lot size in some zones, increasing allowable density in others, and changes in design standards  that may apply to so-called mother-in-laws, tiny houses and the like.

Commercially, height limits may be increased in 5 commercial zones, and various design standards are being discussed to define livability.
