PORT ANGELES — A spike in COVID-19 cases has prompted closure of the Clallam County Courthouse.

The courthouse in Port Angeles will be closed to the public Thursday and Friday.

Officials say the decision was made in an effort to protect staff and the community. The county auditor’s and treasurer’s offices were already closed since Monday due to COVID exposures.

Under the latest closure, all departments will shutter except for the courts.

Officials say during the closure, the courthouse will undergo deep cleaning and sanitation.

District Court will continue with normal operation. Superior Court will be on limited operation.

The Bauer triple murder trial will continue to operate as normal.
