HOODSPORT – That 48-mile section of Highway 101 between Mason and Jefferson Counties reopened to travelers at 1:30pm Thursday.

The highway has been closed between the SR 104 junction with 101 and Hoodsport since Sunday evening after heavy snow brought down trees and powerlines. WSDOT maintenance crews have worked together with local utility crews to remove hundreds of fallen trees and debris in an effort to clear the highway.

The detour route using State Route 3 and SR 104 can be disregarded.

WSDOT thanks residents and travelers for their patience, and reminds us that local utility crews may still need to repair powerlines and alternate travelers in some areas with flaggers, but the highway is now open.
