PORT ANGELES – First Fed Bank recently pledged $2 million to Field Arts & Events Hall. First Fed’s substantial donation brings the total funding to $46 million to date.

Development on the project halted during the pandemic, but Field Hall Executive Director Steve Raider-Ginsburg says these funds have kickstarted the process of getting workers back on site.

“This gift of First Fed’s is the largest corporate gift we have received, and it is substantial enough to restart the project, to believe that we can finish with our fundraising goal. And another thing about First Fed is that they started almost a hundred years ago. They’ll be turning 100 soon here in Port Angeles. So, our relationship with First Fed, and the experience of being with them, is that they love their hometown and they’re doing everything they can to make Port Angeles a vibrant. successful place.”

Raider-Ginsburg says contractors are getting material orders submitted and subs scheduled to begin construction later in the summer. On June 2, Field Hall leadership will host a community event and press conference to announce the new timeline for project completion.

Field Hall will house a 500-seat multi-purpose auditorium and a 300-seat state-of-the-art conference facility. With its location on the downtown waterfront, it is positioned to be the most significant space for arts, entertainment, and special events on the North Olympic Peninsula.
