PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that they are planning to bring back many of the elements from pre-pandemic 4th of July celebration activities in downtown Port Angeles, as well as boosting the annual fireworks show to be the biggest in the history of Port Angeles Harbor.

Plans include a major evening concert downtown featuring Abbey Road LIVE (a nationally-touring Beatles cover band), activities all afternoon for children and families at the Gateway Transit Center, a parade that starts at 6pm, and the most spectacular fireworks show ever seen along the Port Angeles waterfront, starting at dark (around 10:15pm), west of the Black Ball ferry dock.  Attending and participating in most of the activities is free of charge.

3:00pm LAWNMOWER DERBY — join the fun in the parking lot at 121 W Front St (same location as the Winter Ice Village in winter), 3:00pm-5:00pm

6:00pm – 4th OF JULY PARADE throughout downtown.  The judges’ stand and announcers will be located at the intersection of Front and Laurel Streets.  Again this year, we are very excited to be able to award prizes to the most outstanding parade entries.  This year’s theme is “Service to the Community”, and the Grand Marshal is KONP’s own Scooter Chapman! Entry fee is $20 (free for youth and veteran groups).  Thanks in advance to everyone who is working hard to put together outstanding floats.  The winner of outstanding float will receive $1,000 — and there are many more cash prizes for quality parade entries.
PARADE Application and route information is HERE.
Many thanks, yet again, to Kitsap Bank for sponsoring and helping organize our parade!

8:00pm – BEATLES TRIBUTE CONCERT — After the parade, make your way to the parking lot area where the Winter Ice Village sets up in the winter, where the Abbey Road LIVE concert will begin at 8:00pm.  Abbey Road LIVE is a nationally touring Beatles cover band.
The concert will end just before the fireworks begin – around 10:15pm.

10:15pm – FIREWORKS — at about 10:15pm (start time depends on darkness), the annual fireworks show will begin, accompanied by music played on local radio station KONP (AM1450, FM101.7), and should be visible throughout much of the city, but any place in the downtown area will be great for viewing.  The launch point will be from the same location as the past two years.  This year’s fireworks show, which is expected to be the most spectacular ever seen in Port Angeles Harbor, is made possible by a very generous donation from ASTOUND Broadband (formerly WAVE Broadband).
