SEQUIM – The mother of a 7-year-old child and another woman were found dead in a home near Sequim Monday afternoon. Police do not suspect foul play at this time.

It was around 3:30pm Monday when Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of Dungeness Meadows to investigate the deaths of two adult females after getting a 911 call from a person who found the two deceased in a bedroom. The caller also reported there was an unattended 7-year-old boy in the home. The women’s ages were 34 and 57.

Deputies report there was evidence of drug and alcohol use in the room where the women were found. The child was taken into protective custody and later turned over to Child Protective Services.

A medical legal death investigator from the Clallam County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene and examined the bodies. The bodies were later turned over to a funeral home and an autopsy is pending.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Shaun Minks told KONP that fentanyl overdose is suspected.
