PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles City Council has narrowed the field to three finalists to be appointed to a vacancy on the council.

This week, councilmembers chose Andrew Schwab, Amy Miller and Mark Hodgson to move ahead to final interviews.

There were among eleven applicants that had submitted paperwork to be considered to replace Mike French, who resigned after winning election as a Clallam County Commissioner.

Schwab is the owner of Anime Kat in downtown Port Angeles. Miller is a social worker who helped launch the city’s ReDiscovery program dealing with homelessness and Hodgson is a State Patrol Trooper.

The three finalists will be interviewed January 24 from 5-7:00 p.m. Council will likely take action to appoint one of the finalists that night.

The position will be up for election again this fall and then again in two years when the normal cycle for the position would’ve been before city of Port Angeles voters.
