CLALLAM COUNTY – On Tuesday morning, Clallam County Fire District 3 was dispatched to a smoke investigation at Slab Camp Road off Lost Mountain Road.

Crews responded to Slab Camp Road and followed visible smoke up Forest Service road 2870 until they got to Canyon Creek, where they found a motorhome fully engulfed in flames. They report that multiple large trees had fallen on top of the motorhome and were also catching on fire.

Worse, the fire was extending uphill into salal and other trees. No witnesses were on the scene to collect information from.

Crews used about 1000 gallons of water to extinguish the RV fire and the trees and brush.

When the fire was out, National Forest Service crews arrived and took control of the investigation. They report that the RV was abandoned and had been at that location for months.
