Port Angeles, WA – Port Angeles pickleballers will have to find a place to play other than the courts at Elks Playfield on 14th Street while all six courts get some needed repairs and a fresh coat of paint in August.
The Parks & Recreation Department announced Wednesday the upcoming renovation project will begin on Monday, August 12, and is expected to be complete on August 23, weather permitting. The courts will be closed for the duration of the renovation.
The project, made possible by a generous $30,000 donation from a private citizen, includes asphalt repairs on the two center courts, and a complete resurfacing with new paint for all six courts.
For that to happen, the pickleball nets and fences will be removed on Thursday, August 8, and the courts will close to the public.
