SEQUIM – A Sequim coin and jewelry shop owner has been arrested on multiple theft charges.
Late last week Sequim police, assisted by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET), executed a search warrant at Gold Rush Jewelry and Coin on E. Washington St. as part of ongoing investigations involving the business and its owner, Kurt Miller.
Miller was arrested on charges of unlawful issuance of bank checks (UIBC) and theft. Investigators allege that he issued checks with insufficient funds to customers selling or consigning precious metals. Over $100,000 is reportedly owed to 19 victims.
The Sequim Police Department continues to investigate additional claims of UIBC and theft.
