
POULSBO — The Port Angeles Roughriders baseball team earned one of its best wins of the season last night, beating North Kitsap in Poulsbo 4-2.
With Olympic topping Sequim 13-6, the Riders are back in the hunt for second place behind league-leading, 7-0 Bainbridge.

The Roughriders upset North Kitsap 4-2 last night and will host the Vikings today at 3:30.
Olympic, Sequim, and North Kitsap are all tied at 4-3 in league play, while Port Angeles, now 2-5, sits just two games back.
Sequim travels to Orting today for a 4:15 first pitch, while the Roughriders host North Kitsap in a key matchup at 3:30.
Saturday, Sequim has another crucial game at Olympic at noon. Port Angeles heads to Auburn for a non-league game against Jefferson, with first pitch at 1:00.
The Raiders, 5-7, are led by sophomore Ikaika Frank, hitting .469, and senior Kingston Edwards at .323. KONP Newsradio will carry that game live, with pregame at 12:45.

In golf, the Roughrider boys beat Olympic 165-206. Sky Gelder led the way with a 36. Noah Myers shot 42, Cole Wentz 43, Max Gagnon 44, Kolby Charles 47, and Tristan Grantham 48.
The Roughrider girls also topped Olympic 246-258. Lainey Rudd shot 57, Layla Parker 61, Izzy Spencer 63, Hellen Fishman 65, Mya Callis 66, and Amy Biondillo 68.
In softball today, Sequim hosts Olympic at 5:00, while Port Angeles travels to North Kitsap for a 4:30 start.
In tennis, Bainbridge is at Port Angeles at 2:30, and Bremerton visits Sequim at 4:00.
In soccer last night, Sequim shut out Olympic 5-0.
Tonight, Port Angeles is at North Mason at 7:00. On Saturday, Kingston visits Port Angeles at 5:45, and Bremerton is at Sequim with a 5:30 kickoff.
