PORT ANGELES — The Port of Port Angeles is about to make a major change at the marina and boatyard by assuming direct management of both entities, effective Wednesday, July 15.
PetroCard, which has been running the fueling and management services for both facilities, is out. Paul Jarkiewicz, CEO of the Port of Port Angeles, said in a statement, “The Port is committed to maintaining safe and reliable facilities while evaluating opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service over time.”
Communications Manager Michaela Fujita-Conrads told KONP that a new harbormaster is being hired to run operations, and interviews are currently under way for a couple of employees to assist.
Marina services, boatyard activities, customer support, and facility access will continue without interruption during the transition. The Port plans to conduct a review of existing procedures related to billing, slip assignments and registrations, and marina and boatyard regulations. They said any future changes will be communicated prior to implementation.
