Poisonous Plants for People and Pets
Clallam County Noxious Weed Control Coordinator, Cathy Lucero, will provide information about plants that are poisonous to people and animals on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at noon in the county commissioners meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Lucero will provide tips for spotting some of the area’s poisonous weeds. She will also identify some common landscape plants that are toxic to humans, pets and livestock. She will offer weed and garden management practices when planting or encountering these plants.
Gardeners may bring samples of weeds that they would like help identifying or removing from their garden. Samples should be bagged in a clear, zipped plastic bag.
Lucero studied Botany at the University of Washington and completed her degree in Environmental Science through the Huxley program at Western Washington University. She has been in her present position for 21 years.
