DESCRIPTION:Pet Loss Support Group \nPets are members of our family. They love us unconditionally and offer us comfort and companionship. When they die\, we grieve deeply. \nVolunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) and Olympic Peninsula Humane Society (OPHS) are partnering to offer a monthly Pet Loss Support Group. The Support Group will meet the second Monday of every month from 3 to 4:30 pm at OPHS’s Kitty City at 91 S. Boyce Road in Sequim. \nThe VHOCC-OPHS Pet Loss Support Group will be facilitated by individuals knowledgeable of the special bond between humans and their pets and the grieving process. Meetings are open to any community member who has been affected by the loss of an animal. \nParticipants are invited to bring a memento of their pet – such as a photo\, collar\, or toy – to display during the Support Group meeting and will have the opportunity to share with others about their furry or feathered family members. Taking the time to grieve and talk about the loss of a pet helps many owners begin processing their grief and find coping strategies. \nVHOCC-OPHS Pet Loss Support Group meetings are drop-in. Participants do not need to register and can attend as many sessions as they desire. For more information call VHOCC at (360) 452-1511.

DESCRIPTION:Growing vegetables in raised beds offers numerous advantages\, including better drainage\, warmer soil\, and easier access by the gardener. Another advantage is productivity – through better control of your growing environment\, your season’s results are often more bountiful and more delicious. \nOn Saturday\, August 15th from 10-11:30 a.m. the Clallam County Master Gardeners will dive into the What\, How\, and WOW of Raised Bed Gardening at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden. This interactive learning opportunity is free to all members of our community. \nThe Raised Bed Gardening team has planned a dynamic experience\, beginning with a presentation/Q&A session addressing types of raised beds\, location and design considerations\, soil preparation\, watering\, mulches\, and various attachments for growing different types of vegetables. \nThe rest of the morning will take participants through the Woodcock raised bed gardens\, where mature produce and earlier-stage plantings are growing side-by-side in various types of framed raised beds and showcasing a range of trellises and season extenders. \nThe Master Gardeners Raised Bed team\, including David Rambin (Golden Trowel Recipient)\, Jennifer Blackwood\, Dave Eberle\, Kelly Pankau\, Diane Young\, and Tom Zingarelli\, have been working steadily to develop the raised bed gardens at Woodcock and are looking forward to sharing their experience with you. \nThe goal for Raised Bed Gardening is to bring participants greater knowledge to optimize the growth and productivity of their vegetable gardens for this season and the longer term\, and to build their confidence in approaching the task\, whether on their own or in hiring a professional. \nMG Digging Deeper presentations are free\, open to all\, no registration required\, so bring an interested friend or neighbor. DESCRIPTION:Fifth Street Community Garden Clinics will occur on the second Saturday of the month during the growing season from 10:00-11:30 a.m. starting April 11. Master Gardeners from the 5th ST Garden Team will assist on a rotating bases. They will be available to tour the garden\, answer plant clinic questions and give vegetable gardening advice on what is happening or should be happening in Clallam County vegetable gardens. DESCRIPTION:Pet Loss Support Group \nPets are members of our family. They love us unconditionally and offer us comfort and companionship. When they die\, we grieve deeply. \nVolunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) and Olympic Peninsula Humane Society (OPHS) are partnering to offer a monthly Pet Loss Support Group. The Support Group will meet the second Monday of every month from 3 to 4:30 pm at OPHS’s Kitty City at 91 S. Boyce Road in Sequim. \nThe VHOCC-OPHS Pet Loss Support Group will be facilitated by individuals knowledgeable of the special bond between humans and their pets and the grieving process. Meetings are open to any community member who has been affected by the loss of an animal. \nParticipants are invited to bring a memento of their pet – such as a photo\, collar\, or toy – to display during the Support Group meeting and will have the opportunity to share with others about their furry or feathered family members. Taking the time to grieve and talk about the loss of a pet helps many owners begin processing their grief and find coping strategies. \nVHOCC-OPHS Pet Loss Support Group meetings are drop-in.
